Not invaded; causing no breach of boundaries. The opposite of invasive.
Procedures that do not involve tools that break the skin or physically enter the body are considered noninvasive. X-rays, a standard eye exam, CT scan, MRI, hearing aid, Holter monitor, external splints, casts, an ECG, and auscultation of the chest are examples of noninvasive procedures.
